SCHOOL RULES
|
(A) FLAG RAISING CEREMONY & ASSEMBLIES
|
A1 |
Students who are Singapore Citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge. Students will take the Pledge with the right fist placed over the heart. |
|
A2 |
All students must stand at attention and maintain proper decorum during flag raising ceremonies. |
|
A3 |
Students must gather at designated assembly areas punctually, in an orderly manner. |
|
A4 |
Students must observe proper audience etiquette at assemblies and give due attention to the performance, presentation or speaker. |
(B) ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY

B1 |
Students must not be absent from school without valid reason. Guidance on managing absence to school is found in the Absence from School section of the Student Handbook. |

B2 |
Students must arrive at school before 8 am on all school days, unless advised otherwise. Guidance on managing late arrival or early release from school is found in the Arriving At & Leaving School section of the Student Handbook. |

B3 |
Students must be punctual for lessons and other school activities. |
(C) SCHOOL ATTIRE
|
C1 |
Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform and modification to the uniform is not allowed. |

C2 |
Students are to be attired appropriately for various school activities as stipulated in the Appropriate Attire for School Activities section of the Student Handbook. |
|
C3 |
Students are to only wear footwear as stipulated in the Acceptable Footwear section of the Student Handbook. |
|
C4 |
Students needing thermal wear tops like jackets, sweaters or cardigans must only use them in air-conditioned spaces. The thermal wear must be plain and black in colour. |
(D) GROOMING
|
D1 |
Students are to ensure that their school uniform is clean and worn neatly. |
|
D2 |
Students must not dye or tint their hair. |
|
D3 |
Students are not to wear jewellery or ornaments to school. |
|
D4 |
Students wearing contact lenses must ensure that the lenses are non-tinted. |
|
D5 |
Students wearing spectacles must ensure that the frames are dark rimmed and not outlandish in colour or design. |
|
D6 |
Students must keep their fingernails short, uncoloured and clean. |
|
D7 |
Students are not to sport tattoos or other forms of body art. |
|
D8 |
Students must not put on make-up. |
|
D9 |
Female students with long hair must tie up their hair neatly. Any accessories (eg. hairpins, hairband, scrunchies) used must be plain and black in colour. |
|
D10 |
Female students may wear a silver or gold coloured ear stud on each ear lobe. |
|
D11 |
Male students must maintain a short and neat hairstyle. Guidance on hairstyles is found in the Acceptable Hairstyles section of the Student Handbook. |
|
D12 |
Male students must be neat in appearance, clean-shaven and no facial hair is allowed. |
(E) RESPECTFUL INTERACTIONS

E1 |
Students must interact respectfully with others and not engage in hurtful behaviours or bullying. |
|
E2 |
Students must interact respectfully with all members of staff and follow their instructions to keep the school safe, secure and conducive for learning. |

E3 |
Students must interact respectfully with appointed student leaders and follow their instructions to keep the school safe, secure and conducive for learning. |
(F) MOBILE PHONES & DIGITAL COMMUNICATION

F1 |
Students must safekeep their mobile phones at their designated lockers and not access them during school hours. For guidance on appropriate usage of mobile phones, refer to Use of Mobile Phones section of the Student Handbook. |

F2 |
Students are not to capture images or make audio/video recordings of other members of the school community without their permission. |
|
F3 |
Students are not to forward, circulate or post images or audio/video recordings of other members of the school community without their permission. They must inform a teacher or trusted adult when they receive images or audio/video recordings of concern or taken without permission. |
|
F4 |
Students are to abide by the Acceptable Use of Technology Policy outlined in the Student Handbook when using technology. |
(G) ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

G1 |
Students are expected to maintain academic integrity when completing all assignments and assessment tasks. This includes avoiding plagiarism and following proper attribution practices. Students must refer to the AI for Learning section of the Student Handbook for guidance on the appropriate use of artificial intelligence tools in their work. |

G2 |
Students must adhere to all regulations outlined in the Test & Exam Regulations section of the Student Handbook during tests and examinations. This includes following proper conduct requirements and maintaining integrity throughout the assessment process. |
(H) GENERAL CONDUCT

H1 |
Students must move around the school in an orderly manner and not make excessive noise that affects others. |
|
H2 |
Students are to seek permission before leaving the classroom or designated activity area. |
|
H3 |
Students must observe the following at the school canteen: • queue up when purchasing food and drinks • return used utensils and cutlery to appropriate receptacles • dispose of rubbish (eg. food waste & packaging) |
|
H4 |
Students are to consume food and drinks within the canteen or any other designated dining area. Only plain water is to be consumed in other areas of the school. |
|
H5 |
Students are not allowed to use the lift (elevator) without prior permission. |
|
H6 |
Students are to take proper care of school property/equipment and use them responsibly. |
(I) PROHIBITED ITEMS

I1 |
Students are not allowed to have in their possession any weapon. They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which is used or intended to be used to cause harm to others. |
|
I2 |
Students are not allowed to bring the following items to school: • lighters and other fire starters • perfume and aerosol-based deodorants • pen knifes and other sharp objects These items will be confiscated or safekept by the school and may only be returned to parents/guardians. |

I3 |
Students must seek permission from teachers before bringing cards, board games or handheld electronic games to school or for school activities. |
POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES
Possible consequences for breaching the rules stated above include:
apology, writing a reflection piece, after-school detention, demerit points, corrective work (service to school), loss of privileges, confiscation/safekeeping of prohibited items, in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, expulsion
