Direct School Admission - Secondary 1 (2027) Intake
Primary 6 students with an interest and talent in (A) Sports and (B) Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) areas can apply for Direct School Admission (DSA) to Secondary 1 (2027) via the DSA exercise this year.

(A) Sports
Student-Athlete Programme
The SKSS Student-Athlete Programme adopts a 6-prong approach aimed at providing a supportive ecosystem for students to develop holistically in sports, academic learning and other domains of growth.
Beyond playing the sport, as part of Educational Career Guidance, students will be also exposed to sports-related knowledge, post-secondary courses and career pathways.
Students can also consider opting for Exercise & Sports Science as a subject in their upper secondary years.
Selection Criteria for Sports Talent Areas
Applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in sports but need not necessarily have prior experience in the specific talent area they are applying for. The school will assess applicants based on the following selection criteria*:
Possesses general sports-related fitness and physical ability
Demonstrates Sport-specific technical skills
Demonstrates Sport-specific technical skills
Applicants are encouraged to include any participation in relevant CCAs or external competition, which may include:
representation in zonal or national competitions
being a member of the school team or Junior Sports Academy (JSA)
(B) STEM
SKYentist Programme
The Seng Kang Youth-Scientist (SKYentist) Programme aims to develop passionate and talented students holistically in the areas of STEM beyond the mainstream curriculum through SKSS’ two signature programmes, the Applied Learning Programme (ALP) and Seng Kang Youth Learn Apply Breakthrough! (SKY L.A.B!) talent development programme.
Through SKSS ‘Food for the Future’ ALP, all students explore issues and develop solutions concerning Food Security and Sustainability. The ALP curriculum involves various authentic experiences, such as soil-based and hydroponics urban farming, food-related scientific investigations and solutioning using coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI). SKYentists will also be involved in projects that tackle food-related issues and explore alternative food options.
The SKY L.A.B! programme develops SKYentists’ interest in research and equip them with knowledge and skills in STEM through a progressive and extensive 3-year spiral curriculum that includes workshops, learning journeys and competitions. SKYentists capture their journey in the programme through a digital portfolio that can be utilised for their future post-secondary and career pursuits.

Applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in STEM-related areas but need not necessarily have prior experience in the specific talent area they are applying for. The school will assess applicants based on the following selection criteria*:
Demonstrates strong interest in STEM subjects
Demonstrates critical, problem-solving and creative thinking
Exhibits good personal qualities
Applicants are encouraged to include any participation in relevant CCAs or external competition, which may include:
representation in STEM projects and/or competitions, and/or participation in STEM activities and interest groups
*Do note that meeting the selection criteria does not guarantee that the applicant will be shortlisted/given an offer.

SELECTION
| 29 Jun 2026 - 28 Aug 2026 | Shortlisted applicants will be notified by 10 July 2026 to attend trials. Selection involves two stages:

OUTCOME | 17 Aug 2026 - 28 Aug 2026 | All applicants will receive their outcomes between 17 August and 28 August 2026. |
SCHOOL PREFERENCE SUBMISSION
| 19 Oct 2026 – 23 Oct 2026 | Students who receive an offer will receive an email and SMS notification on the school preference submission. Parents must log in to the DSA-Sec Portal using SingPass to submit up to three school preferences. Those needing assistance can approach their child’s primary school. |
RESULT RELEASE | Late Nov | Students will receive their DSA-Sec results together with their PSLE results by end-Nov. |
Advisory to Parents & Students
Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools thoughtfully, considering the student's aptitudes and strengths alongside each school's academic and non-academic requirements and the programmes available to develop their talents.
Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are required to honour their commitment to the school and participate in the activities related to their selected talent area throughout their years at the school.
